A member of the family : musaceae , Genus: musa, the banana plant is the largest herbaceous flowering plant. Bananas are one of the most popular fruit worldwide and is the favourite and most commercially viable dessert banana in Brazil. We have planted a bananeiral in the marsh area and diversified by adding Açai palm and palmito pupunha, a heart of palm species native of the Amazon region.
Adhering to our Agro Reforestation concept we have planted a selection of pumpkins amidst the native taioba.
We started harvesting our first crop of bananas at the the end of 2020.
Our banana plants were sourced by Embrapa for EMATER - Rio.
